Claimed benefits of Subhas Palekar Method of Farming

Palekar Method of Farming

Here is a short note and some links that discussed about Palekar method of Farming.
It is worthwhile reading, analyzing, and evaluating this method for scaling, and then adopting it.

It appears that Palekar method of farming is quite beneficial to farmers, especially with small acreages in India.

Here are some claims:
It is yielding 5 to 10 times financial returns than before.
It provides a continual cash flow to farmers.
It uses local labor but not in large quantity.
It uses machinery to a small extent.
It is quite suitable for farmers holding 1 to 10 acres.
It utilizes cows thus helping the Hindu cause.
It is good for multiple products that are also organic.
It does not use chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
It requires a small investment of money.
It requires the framer to learn the technique, which is not complex.
It utilizes domestic varieties of seeds.

A Strategic Plan is needed to address the Problems of the US Black Community

Black Lives Matter - Need for a Strategic Plan

By Som Karamchetty, PhD

The Need for the development of a Strategic Plan is suggested here. It starts with identifying the Basic Needs of the Black community. Maslow's Need Hierarchy is the appropriate framework to analyse the Needs. It will be realized that the prior attempts like Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) have helped a small fraction of the community, while the vast majority have been  forsaken. It has actually been costing the nation in terms of welfare payments to the vast majority as well as wasted human potential. Therefore, it is essential to get a good handle on the Needs of the large majority of that community and address them.
Once the Basic Needs of the majority of the community are identified, the nation should build step ladders such that people can satisfy their basic needs, move up the ladder, and become highly contributing people. In practical terms, it may only require training in knowledge and skills of the modern technological economy, provision of the tools, and networks. A Strategic Plan should be developed, resourced, and executed. It will actually have a high return on investment both economically and socially.
Leaders of the Black community have a higher stake in taking the lead in putting forth a plan for the Strategic Plan in collaboration with the majority of Americans.

Here is a presentation explaining the concept and method.

Plan for a Developed Country Status for India

I sent a note in 2005-06 to Indian leaders suggesting that by applying Maslow's Need Hierarchy, they should develop a Strategic Plan for making India a developed country.
In 2015, I gave talks at a few Indian universities and the presentation, I used at that time is reproduced here. That presentation used the 2005 US and India data sets only.

That presentation is posted here.

An Enhancement of this plan

In autocratic countries, a centralized planning may work as the leadership imposes it on the people whether or not the people like it or benefit from it.
On the other hand, in democratic countries, unless the plan components are generated by the people, they will not participate in it with passion and enthusiasm. Leaders in democratic nations do not and cannot impose their will on people. People may displace the governments if they do not like the plan or if the results do not benefit them.
With a view to addressing such concerns, I suggested the development of Panchayat level Planning, which is an enhancement of the plan presented above. This planning method is also posted on my Blog as a
Document and as a Presentation.
